Leadership is about a willingness to listen and learn before having an “already knowing everything” approach to meeting the needs of your constituents and responding to their concerns.
This is where Kamala and Tim, our Democratic candidates will excel! They are “people persons”, meaning they have a gift of being able to be relatable to people and this entails being sensitive and aware of what people are saying and needing. It means being self-aware and cognizant of where you are, who you are dealing with, and where the people you are communicating with are from. You cannot just assume that people are coming from the same life experience that you have come from. It means being a good communicator and knowing how to allow people the space and time to speak without interruptions and preconceived assumptions of what they are saying and what they need. It requires you to be transparent and honest.
If you don’t have the resolve and answers that are needed and will satisfy what is needed, take a step back and respond with honesty that you need to take this situation into consultation so that there is an appropriate and congenial resolve to the request. Kamala and Tim know how to conduct themselves in any situation because they don’t come “at” people” with ego and “attitude”! They know that they are in the positions they are in because people have put their trust in them and without that trust, they would not be successful, and the country would not move forward. They do not have elitest personas which makes them accessible and responsive. May the world see them as ” Compassionate, Forthright, Intelligent, and Discerning Global Leaders”.
