Tiny Tips for Moms and Dads #28

Guiding Children into Enjoying Their Own Company

Can you imagine how balanced we would be as adults if we were nurtured as children to enjoy our own company and know that,

“We are enough”!

It is so important as human beings to be able to know confidently that we are “good company”, and that we can really be ok, enjoying our own company.  It requires that our children are given opportunities to play by themselves and engage in imaginative play activities all by themselves.   It means that we nurture them in believing in themselves and knowing that there are times that they will have the choice of playing and being by themselves, and there will be times where in terms circumstances they will not have a choice and that does not have to be a challenge.

Again, we have to demonstrate our ability to be okay sitting down reading a book, putting on some music to listen to, or watch a good movie.  It could be working in your garden, engaging in an artistic activity or investing your time an energy in your favorite hobby.  These could be categorized as adult activities, but just seeing their parents doing fun things by themselves will hopefully inspire them to find fun things of their choice to do on their own because it makes then happy and fulfilled.  It is of course important for them to have a balance between being in their own company and sharing their company with others.

We don’t want them isolating themselves or withdrawing from engaging with other people-children, because we want them to have healthy social emotional skills.  We are just encouraging them to love and appreciate themselves and to carry that sense of self and grounding with them in any situation.  We want them to be know that they are “Enough” because of who they are-period! “To thine own self be true” -Be their beautiful authentic divine identity. This is an important life skill for all children- children with no siblings as well as children with siblings. Another good thing about being able to be ok being and doing things alone sometimes is that it will support the need for you and your children to- “Care for Self” and be comfortable doing it!

Sunday Prayers-# 31-Our Mantra Prayer for Faith-Voiced

My faith looks up to thee, from whence cometh my faith to live my life in the fullness of what has been provided for me! I am complete and whole in my Divine Design.

Our Mantra Prayer for Faith-

Thank you, Creator, for the strength and beauty of my Faith in our relationship that has allowed me to live a life void of fear, apprehension, despair, disillusionment, and hopelessness. My faith carries me through life with a vibrational energy that fills my cup.  I know that in this world does not support our belief and practice of “faith”, but it is more than critical now that we have our faith to see us through what we are experiencing in this chaotic state of humanity.

Our faith has no boundaries and the more we engage in our life through faith, the stronger we become in our divine identity.  Working through our life with an armor of faith there is nothing we can’t face and overcome.  Faith is a badge of courage and tenacity. Faith is believing that all things are possible even when things are seemingly over surmountable and out of reach.

Our Mantra Prayer for Today: “Faith”I will hold fast to my “faith” that leads me and guides me along my life’s journey that will ground me and protect me.

So, breathe deeply! Close your eyes and visualize something that brings you back into homeostasis with your soul expression.  May today bring you a sense of peace, joy, and moments of feeling loved and validated for who you are and what you are gifting humanity.

Ashé! Have a Blessed Day!

I’m Just Sayin #174-Truth Be Told- Honesty is a Valuable and an Almost Extinct Commodity!  Voiced

The Truth Shall Always Set Us Free!

***For translation of the text of the blog: touch the Blue Globe on the top right-hand corner.

Well, when we were children are parents told us to not “tell stories”.  As we got older it was “Don’t lie”! Then of course there was the threat of “If you lie, you will steal, and if you steal, you will kill”.  Oh, my Lord! That one use to frighten me to death!  Lying was not a problem for me because it just did not feel good to lie, especially to my parents.  I always felt the truth would reveal itself sooner or later.  The best thing for me was to just own up and speak the truth.

My Dad use to tell us how important “our word” was and that was another reason speaking the truth was so important to me.  I know that there seems to be times that when you are holding the truth for someone or from someone, because you think it will be more harmful than the truth, but that position can get things more complicated and complex.

In today’s society the lies are steeped into the world of “misinformation”, “deception”, and “blatant up in your face bald faced lies”, so that there is no trust, no understanding of what is real and what is not. We are all stumbling through this maze of chaos and confusion that the world is allowing to manifest, and we have very little control of what is going on globally, nationally, and in our own communities.  What we do have control over however, is how we conduct our own lives, and how we nurture and guide our children’s character development.

I believe that the change that is possible in developing a more ethical, moral, just, and compassionate society, starts with us as individuals and with our collective vibration of positive energy.  We can make a difference in turning things around.  We can be both seen and heard!  We are responsible for our actions.  We are responsible for our words.

We don’t have to fall for the lies and misinformation!  Tune up your instinctual gift of discernment and put it in to play. We have the internal radar to work ourselves out of the maze of confusion and chaos. We have the power to see through the lies and search for the truth.  After all it is the truth that sets our souls free!

So, breathe deeply! Close your eyes and visualize something that brings you back into homeostasis with your soul expression.  May today bring you a sense of peace, joy, and moments of feeling loved and validated for who you are and what you are gifting humanity.

Ashé! Have a Blessed Day!

I’m Just Sayin-#173-Maturity of Mind, Body, and Soul is the Ultimate Goal! Voiced

I’m Just Sayin-#173-Maturity of Mind, Body, and Soul is the Ultimate Goal! Voiced

Maturity is learning to walk away from people and situations that threaten your peace of mind, self-respect, values, morals, or self-worth.

***For translation of the text of the blog: touch the Blue Globe on the top right-hand corner.

Maturity of Mind, Body, and Soul is the Ultimate Goal!

According to the American Behavioral Clinic’s Point of View:
Here Are 10 Signs of Emotional Maturity:

  1. Being FlexibleBeing able to make adjustments, adaptations, compromise, and revise things so that situations can be resolved and move forward.
  2. Taking Ownership & ResponsibilityAn emotionally mature person takes responsibility for their actions and is able to take ownership for their words, actions, and deeds. It requires honesty and acceptance of themselves and the maturity to extend that opportunity to others in return.
  3. Knowing That They Don’t Know EverythingAn emotionally mature person acknowledges that they don’t know everything and that they don’t have to know everything. They don’t argue “just to be right” or to show dominance to be in charge. They keep an open mind, and heart to the potential of letting others share their point of view and ideas
  4. They Look for Learning and Growth From Every Opportunity- An emotionally mature person is on the lookout for what can be learned from any situation or opportunity, and searches for the growth opportunity within it, asking “How can I learn and grow from this?”
  5. They Actively Seek Out Multiple Points of View To Help Inform Their OwnEmotionally mature people actively seek to inform their own opinions by actively seeking out the points of view of others. They don’t feel threatened by disagreement and make room for others to have a point of view as well.
  6. They Stay ResilientIn the face of upset, setbacks, or disappointments, an emotionally mature person will acknowledge their feelings, identify what can be done, and then decide what steps to take to move on.
  7. They Have a Calm DispositionEmotionally mature people do get mad and do not let the emotion dictate their response. They realize that emotions get out of hand there can be no communication or resolve. Remember, it is not the situation, but how we respond to the situation.
  8. They Believe in Themselves- Emotionally mature people don’t have a false sense of self that is ego-based and deluded. But they do have self-respect, love, and acceptance of self that empowers them to live their life organically, authentically, and honestly.
  9. ApproachabilityEmotionally mature people are very aware and sensitive to the art of communication and earnestly try to talk “to”, and “with” people instead of “at” people. They are by nature now non-judgmental, empathic, and compassionate in their interactions with others.
  10. A Good Sense of Humor– Emotionally mature people realize that all of life can’t be taken seriously. They realize that it is important to “wear this world as a loose garment”!
We are each at different points of maturity in our life, and have different personal goals for our life, but if we step into the fullness of “who we are and who we were meant to blossom as”, it will color the texture of every aspect of our life. So set your intentions and the direction you want your life to move in. Think about the “who of you “you want to love and respect. Think about how you want to be able to respond to the challenges in life and what that would entail of you to be competent and confident.

Be brave in your life. Invest the time and energy in yourself that will help you reap the reward of the whole, healthy, and happy person you deserve to be. You will amaze yourself when you see yourself in action as your “divine self”! You as complete as you were the day you were born. Do it! Grow up and into “You” and enjoy life. After all- “It’s your life and your time to bloom
”!So, breathe deeply! Close your eyes and visualize something that brings you back into homeostasis with your soul expression.  May today bring you a sense of peace, joy, and moments of feeling loved and validated for who you are and what you are gifting humanity. I’m Just Sayin-#172- If We Pause for a Moment, We Will Receive the Message! Voiced

There is so much peace and fragrance in the beauty of life, if we are still enough to take a breath and just breathe! Stop, Look, and Listen!

***For translation of the text of the blog: touch the Blue Globe on the top right-hand corner.

Yesterday I had one of my ‘Epiphanies”.  I guess I feel like today’s stream of consciousness is linked to that internal conversation.  I was talking to my niece Robin about the revelation I got on the importance of “Epiphanies” in our life, and this surfaced from that conversation.

I now understand that we are not sitting still long enough or being attentive enough to see, feel, hear, or understand what is being given to us to support our daily lives.  We are so engulfed in this illusionary world that has captured our full attention and devotion, that we are missing out on the real nuisances in life that are working underground and perhaps undercover to hold our lives together.

Every day, there is a gifted message that we each receive if we but sit in the moment long enough to grasp it and let it take ahold of us and color the fabric of what we are clothed in that day. It is not like we necessarily hear voices or the ground moves beneath our feet to shake us to awareness.  It could be a gut feeling that runs straight through our bodies that tells us that something is array or that something good is about to happen.

Sometimes there are circumstances that prevent us from doing something on time or not at all.  Breathe, there is a reason for it.  I always stop and say “thanks” because I know that I have been protected from something or that I was about to go into overdrive and do more than I should be doing.  There are times in the day that we have to do a combination of “time out to go time in” in order to tune into the “spirit world” that is working on our behalf.  It is amazing how much we take for granted because we are so unaware of what is going on around us.

Anyway, in lighting my family candles and candles for my friends that are having challenges in their life, out of nowhere I decided to light a candle for “First Responders” and offer gratitude for what they are doing to sustain our lives in this era of choas and the aftermath of the “Pandemic”.

There are people praying for us that we don’t know who is praying for us or what spiritual forces are in the mix of our life-just when we need it.  When they say, “Peace be Still”, I think it means that if we are still, we will find “peace” and the message being sent to us will be seen, heard, or felt!

So, breathe deeply! Close your eyes and visualize something that brings you back into homeostasis with your soul expression.  May today bring you a sense of peace, joy, and moments of feeling loved and validated for who you are and what you are gifting humanity.

Ashé! Have a Blessed Day!

I’m Just Sayin #170-Do We Have More Superpowers Than We Admit We Have? Voiced

Are we brave enough to be our own superheroes in our own life?

***For translation of the text of the blog: touch the Blue Globe on the top right-hand corner.

The question that popped up in my head today was, “Do we have more superpower than we admit we have? Do we question our power to attain the things we want or need in life, because it is easier, less complicated, safer, convenient, and doesn’t require us to step up to the plate in our life and make things happen? If we actually admitted to ourselves that we have amazing strength in our abilities to manifest the life we want, we would have to live that life fully. We would have no regrets, no should haves, would haves, or could haves.

I am not saying it is not a lot of responsibility living our “Best Life Ever”, because it is. It means we must first of all live our life from a place of gratitude and appreciation for what has blessed our life experience. Secondly, we have to own that we know we are powerful, and we can have what we want as well as what we need. It kind of makes me chuckle, because I remember my Mom and Dad telling us as children that they would give us some of what we wanted, but that they would always make sure that we had all that we needed.

I’m thinking that while I am talking about manifesting all the things we want and need, I better emphasize that what we want should be balanced out with what we need. We’ve got to make sure that we use our power in a way that it is in alignment with what is truly of value and importance to us.

We don’t want to just randomly use our power and inner strength of character to be someone we are not or activate things in our life that are not in character to who we are. It’s good to have what we want in life, but it is better to have all of what we need to support our lives, be happy in who we are, and loving the life we lead.

Perhaps it is time for us to step up and be our own superheroes! It is time to move into the greatness that we can bring to fruition because we know full well what resides within us! We can’t continue to try to fool ourselves and disguise our innate divine identity. We are not fooling anyone. People that really “See us”, know what we are capable of.

We cannot hide who God – “Great Spirit” has designed! Eventually, we have to deal with what is expected of us, by us, and make it happen! The beauty of this transformation is that those same people that “See us and know what we have the power to do”, will be the same people that will support our courage to “come into ourselves”! We must remember how fearless and uninhibited we were in the early stages of our life, and then we will be able to move forward with what we deserve and have earned. It’s that birthright stuff again! Don’t hesitate and lose your grip on using your “Divine Superpowers”! Do you!

So, breathe deeply! Close your eyes and visualize something that brings you back into homeostasis with your soul expression.  May today bring you a sense of peace, joy, and moments of feeling loved and validated for who you are and what you are gifting humanity.

Ashé! Have a Blessed Day!

Sculptor: Jean Martin. Looking and moving forward to what waits for us through the “Gate” of possibilities.

***For translation of the text of the blog: touch the Blue Globe on the top right-hand corner.

Part of what we do as a family is to Home School- Out School the grandchildren. It has been a wonderful and challenging experience as we evolve in our approach and curriculum and as the children take the lead in directing the context in which they chose to learn and the knowledge that they are interested in. The approach is “Child centered” because we are adamant and intentional in wanting to protect and nurture the divine design of our children. Every day we start with learning and reciting a poem.

I feel this particular poem is my favorite because it captures the essence of what we want to instill in our children that will be part of their perspective in approaching life. Every month the children get books from their subscription to Literati Book Club and they include a poem that is in alignment with the category of the books that they select to send the children. So, I must credit Literati for this poem!!

We are born to be wild, born to be brave,

To dance with the wind and explore the last cave.

Learn new stars and old stars, vast sands and seas; the secrets of forest, the wisdom of trees.

Find creatures with fur, with wings, and the scales

That move through the sky and hop along trails.

Unicorns, dragons, penguins, and pets.

Greet them with courage, you’ll have no regrets.

Think you’re a bookworm lost in a book?

Think again, young explorer-there’s more if you look!

Literati-

Is this not amazing! Is this not great! Can you even imagine living life through this gate? The gate to adventure, mystery, and endless possibilities that lay in wait. I think as adults we should take this to heart! For the lives we are living can be free of depression and suppression if we channel our course with this boundless lens and prescription of life. We were meant to be wildly expressive and creative in our life’s journey.

We were meant to see and feel life as an adventure into unknown waters that held treasures of events that would feed our souls and embellish our heart’s desire for love, peace, joy, and compassion. These adventures we seek to enhance the quality and relevance of our life, are constrained only by our fear and unwillingness to past through that gate. Don’t wait to break free for time is time and we never know how much we have. Make use of each day! Stretch and push to move forward to your divine destiny call! For what has been prepared for you is especially yours.

So, breathe deeply! Close your eyes and visualize something that brings you back into homeostasis with your soul expression.  May today bring you a sense of peace, joy, and moments of feeling loved and validated for who you are and what you are gifting humanity.

Ashé! Have a Blessed Day!

Tiny Tips 4 Moms and Dads #27-“Teaching Children How to Love and Respect Themselves in a Healthy Way!”

Tiny Tips for Moms and Dads#27

Teaching Children How to Love and Respect Themselves in a Healthy Way!

Encouraging them to love and respect themselves is the beginning of learning to love and respect the “people who have earned their love and respect”.

Discovering the need to love and respect oneself is a huge milestone development in human beings.  It requires a lot of nurturing and guidance so that the ego which fuels this “love affair with self” is in balance and is healthy. We are not trying to nurture narcissism so that our children end up having an unhealthy relationship with them selves and cannot engage in a healthy relationship with other people.  Children first learn their value, importance to the village, and what love and respect looks like and feels like, from their parents.  We have to realize that the way in which we relate to our children sets the stage for development in many areas of their life.

Loving and respecting oneself is the basic foundation for every other domain of our being.  It supports every aspect of our life’s experience.  If it is not in tack, it can negatively impact us when we need that sense of “divine identity” to support us when we face challenges in life.  It is important to find ways on a daily basis to validate our children, but it must be authentic!  Children know when we are being earnest and when we are not.  We model that gentility and tenderness that is distinctive to who we are as parents.  Because we love our children so deeply, it is effortless to show them love and respect and to expect other people to do the same.  Unfortunately, it does not work that way.

The world is not going to treat or care for our children the way we do nor the way their “village” does and so this is why it is vital that we are work diligently to guide, nurture and protect their self-love and self-esteem.  I suggest that we create little affirmations that they can learn and become a daily ritual for them-possible for life!  As a parent to this day, I can feel when my daughter needs a little affirmation and I text her one of our special affirmations.  It is also a special connection between the two of us!  We all need each other’s support in grounding us through this ever-changing upside-down world.

These are my little suggestions to get you started in creating your own:

  1. I am love and I am loved.
  2. I can safely share my feelings with my parents and my village.
  3. I deserve to be happy, but it is ok to feel sad, mad, and afraid when I feel that way.
  4. I am a beautiful person in my heart, my mind, and body.
  5. I am perfect just the way I am because I am myself.
  6. I am patient and kind with other people as I want others to be with me.
  7. Sometimes people try to hurt my feelings, but I refuse to let their pain hurt me.
  8. I am smart, creative, and gifted.
  9. I can do anything I put my mind to that brings me joy and a feeling of accomplishment.
  10. I am compassionate and generous of spirit.
  11. I am grateful and appreciative for all the beautiful things in my life.
  12. I am empowered by my divine spirit to be the best version of my highest self -my authentic self.Thank You Jim Brickman for your beautiful music that vibrates through this recording. Little ones wait for no one, especially when they are growing into the “I can do it all by myself” stage!  They want to control the narrative!

***For translation of the text of the blog: touch the Blue Globe on the top right-hand corner.

Henry Van Dyke wrote:

“Time is too slow for those who wait, too swift for those who fear, too long for those who grieve, too short for those who rejoice, but for those who love, time is eternity.”

Okay, so this is what surfaced today! Time kept coming up till I gave in and got the message. Time is perhaps the most valuable gift we receive in the process of our birth. In our culture some of us have a relationship with time as something we are trying to control and manipulate our life around. We see it in terms of a constraint that holds all the things we have to do and accomplish with self-impose deadlines for the “when” these things must come to fruition.

Others of us don’t really operate in the sort of “Linear perception of time”, so we just see it as a continuum where we take the ride to wherever it takes us. Some of us get anxious about what “time we have left” to stuff our bucket list in, so we don’t miss out on anything that our hearts desire. I would like to address each stanza of this quote.

“Time is too slow for those who wait,”– If we live in the world waiting for the tomorrows to come flooding in with the things and circumstances we want out of life- time will move slowly and so will the quality of our life. There is too much to do in living life to sit and wait for our desires and aspirations to come in the “Sometime”, or in the “Eventually”!! Waiting for our life to be in full expression and for us to have the feelings of exhilaration and accomplishment, is a waste of valuable time, energy, and purpose.

Time waits for no one! We must be active participants in our life! We have to be busy living life and making life a worthwhile experience. It is time to be in the state of implementing the blueprint of our life’s story. We make the story! We manifest everything that our hearts desire. It is in the now, not in the tomorrow!

Time is-“Too swift for those who fear”- If we use fear as a way of avoiding what time has in store for us, again we will lose out on an opportunity to take advantage of the precious gift that “Time” provides for us! We lose out on practicing our “Faith” in “Great Spirit” and faith in ourselves. We have to leave fear in the dust and push ourselves forward into the space and place that calms our soul and slows things down to a pace that is in harmony with our spirit and the blueprint of our life. We don’t want to shortchange ourselves from missing something that we deserve or needed to take in order to take the next step on the road.

Time is- “Too long for those who grieve”. Grief in respect to time is so very personal. The pain, discomfort, disappointment, anger, loss, and void can be unbearable at times especially if we are grieving for someone we dearly loved. No one can punch a clock and tell you that the alarm has gone off and your grief time has expired. This is one time that you are completely in charge of “Time”. We all must go through the process of grieving that will impact every part of our being.

The pain touches our mind, body and soul. Speaking from experience I can share with you that when I have lost a family member or a dear friend, it seemed like the pain lasted forever. There seems to always be moments when some of the feelings of loss and void space passes through my heart and I feel it in every cell of my body. The important thing is to remember that “this too must pass because we can’t live in a pain body”!

Time is – “Too short for those who rejoice”. Sometimes it seems when we are in the midst of feeling really good about the blessings that are overflowing in our life, it can feel like a fleeting moment in “Time”! Just when we are steeped into being our happiest, in rolls a boulder that tries to run over our joy. Well, we have to come to terms with the reality that yes this can happen, but we can face it through our joy and not succumb to the distraction or attempted destruction of our happiness and wellbeing.

We can’t give anything or anyone the power to steal our joy. It is important therefore that when we carry that joy in our heart, that we cherish it and protect it. As the elders say, “There is always joy in the morning, and the morning rises everyday with new beginnings an opportunity for us to bask in the sunlight that radiates our time and space for joy.”

“Time can be (not but) for those who love, -time is eternity”- This is where time is of the utmost importance! This is where we wish we had forever to be in loving relationships with the person or people that touch our hearts and stir the emotions of loving and being loved. It is the most important experience that life has to offer. Whether it is our parents, children, sibling/ husband/ wife/ partner, or friend, the gift of love is priceless. It is the best investment in our life. It is timeless! It is a love that if nurtured, honored, respected, and cherished, will follow us throughout our lifetime and into eternity. That’s deep abiding love that can rock our world! It fills our cup, why not let it overflow with- “Love”!

My parting words- Cherish your time in all circumstance of your life. Hold your “Time” as a precious gift that needs your love and attention. Don’t let it slip away from you. You deserve “Time”!

So, breathe deeply! Close your eyes and visualize something that brings you back into homeostasis with your soul expression.  May today bring you a sense of peace, joy, and moments of feeling loved and validated for who you are and what you are gifting humanity.

Ashé! Have a Blessed Day!

Thank You, Jim Brickman for your beautiful music that vibrates through this recording. This is a selection from his album – “Music to Quiet Your Mind and Sooth Your World”.

Sunday Morning Prayer # 15-Compassion

Our Mantra Prayer for Compassion~

***For translation of the text of the blog: touch the Blue Globe on the top right-hand corner.

“Great Spirit”, -May my heart be open to the hearts of others so that I demonstrate the healing power of compassion that is given unconditionally and without reservations. We are all interconnected to one another and whether we believe it or not we are but a few degrees of separation from each other.  They used to say we were 6 degrees of separation, but I know that with the use of technology that has opened our world up, we are exposed to more people then every before in history.  With this exposure our world has become smaller which makes us more available to one another.

We know that you “Great Spirit” are the vessel that designed us with that “human connection”, and as we become more in touch with each other our spiritual connection will draw our understanding of each other and our compassion for one another, more real, more vibrant and will be the instrument that rejuvenates the essence of our humanity.  Help us to show the power and the grace of compassion, so that our lives as individuals and our collective life expressions will be more pleasing in your sight and bring us home to ourselves.

Our Mantra Prayer for Today: “Compassion”

I am compassionate and gentle with myself so that I will open my heart and be compassionate towards others when they need support and understanding.

So, breathe deeply! Close your eyes and visualize something that brings you back into homeostasis with your soul expression.  May today bring you a sense of peace, joy, and moments of feeling loved and validated for who you are and what you are gifting humanity.
