I’m Just Sayin- #150- Empathy – A Symphony of the Heart!
May each day I rise be an opportunity for me to be a light of empathy and unconditional love for someone in need.

Empathy:
An intention to live a life that is capable of seeing people and accepting people and the circumstances of their life’s journey for who they are and standing on the principle of empathy is a gift with in itself. Empathy can lead to action and resourceful understanding that can bring about change. Sympathy is ego stepping forward and emitting pride and judgment.
It cripples and is motionless or takes over to bring about satisfaction not for the individual who is engulfed in the challenging experience but for the person who is outside the experience oblivious to what is really showing up that can give them insight and wisdom. Empathy is drawn from the soul not the mind. It awakens our ability to feel and take hold of our own humanity. Daily I pray “that my eyes may be opened so that I may see, visions of what humanity can be. Rise up in me oh empathy so I can be a part of the miracle that awakening can be.”
Children operate from a place of empathy innately and organically. It is something that rises up in them. I think we get confused and try to teach children to be sympathetic instead of recognizing their ability to be empathetic and nurturing that instinct in them. We have so much to learn from them.
They respond to the world in their natural authentic selves. They see and know who needs someone to touch their heart with empathy and compassion. They are void of the filters and restraints of “being grown up”, aren’t they lucky!!! All this to say- we have the potential of giving and receiving empathy from each other, because it is embedded in “LOVE”.

The Purest Love- This is Compassion in Action!

Compassion:
This is a huge capacity for us to hold in our character development. It calls for such an immense ability to unselfishly feel for and act on behalf of the well-being of another human being. It takes us out of a position of judgment and ego and allows us to be open, available and receptive to the circumstances that challenge the strength and fortitude of someone that is in a vulnerable crossroads of their divinely human journey. When we can respond to life with compassion, we allow others to hold on to their dignity and sense of self-worth. Compassion cannot occupy the same space as ego, so we are free to be our highest self.
Being compassionate is a gift to extend to others and receiving compassion from someone else is a gift for you from others. It is a reciprocal relationship to engage in when the opportunity presents itself. I pray that my heart always be open to the hearts of others so that I demonstrate the healing power of compassion that is given unconditionally and without reservations.

I’m Just Sayin-#142-Giving: Is Extending Ourselves Unconditionally Through Love and Caring for Others-
The amazing thing about who we have the potential of being is that we were designed to have the capacity to hold and share unlimited “Agape Love”! “Agape Love” is the highest form of love! It is unconditional, selfless, and can be interpreted as sacrificial. I believe that when we give this kind of love to one another it is not sacrificial, it is a “soul gift shared”!

There is a real art to giving. It can be done consciously and intentionally or unconsciously and naturally. There is no judgment on which motivation for giving is better. We vacillate between the two art styles depending on where we are in our human emotions and consciousness at the time of being engaged in the act of giving. The simple truth about giving is that it symbolizes caring. It is in fact an act of loving. Think of it as “sharing is caring”. When we give we are sharing a beautiful part of our soul essence. When we share we are allowing ourselves to be vulnerable and open to receiving the beauty and sense of what it feels like to extend ourselves to another person. When we care enough to share our love by giving to others, we are fed feelings of love and being capable of being loved for sharing the generosity of our own humanity.
The feelings that weld up in our soul from caring and sharing with others, is the essence of the real-life experiences that keep our soul light alive and vibrant. That is one of the actions along our own personal journey that moves us forward with energy and with an amazing high vibrational response. This is the path to filling what we might feel is missing in our lives. This is one of the major reasons for our existence, to give and to receive from one another. This act of love through sharing, allows our ability to love and be loved to expand and evolve. This is more proof that the “Me, Myself, and I” way of life will never bring us peace, love, joy, gratitude, or contentment. We cannot find these essentials in life without giving.
Let the light of our willingness to give unconditionally to others, radiate in a way that it illuminates all the spaces of darkness, disillusion, and doubt that others might be carrying in their daily lives.

The time has come! The “Call” has been sent out. God wants those incarcerated in detention houses of evil set free. God wants the madness of racism and nationalism to be cast out of our humanity. God wants this planet to be shared with everyone without borders that institute genocide and hate. There is no space for hatred to exist in a world intended to be loving, compassionate, and just. There is no room in our humanity for the evils that assault people because of the color of their skin, the language they speak, or their station in a discriminating system of government.
This world does not belong to us! It was a gift and if we continue in this direction of allowing greed for wealth and mythical power to overshadow the divined purpose that was intended by our “Creator”- “The One Source”- “Great Spirit”, we shall be subject to the destain of all that holds us accountable.
There is no one savior that is going to come and do what Moses did. That was in God’s old playbook and what is being called for in today’s chaotic destructive world is for all of us that hold on to the principles and practices of the “Christ Spirit” to rise up and be a “Moses”.
This is a “Call” for everyone that still is in alignment with the divinity of their soul essence. This is a “Call” for righteous indignation to push each of us forward in finding our own way to “Action”! We each have a part to play. Our “Creator” did not send us here empty handed. Our Creator was well aware of the fragility and imperfections that can take hold of us and throw us out of alignment with our divinity.
At the same time our “Creator” knows what power for love and compassion exist within our soul’s design and how we can rise to meet evil face to face and not falter or get shaken from our destiny. WE were meant to be “One in the Spirit” as a collective humanity vibrating constantly into spiritual awakening and enlightenment.
We were not purposed in our authentic selves to be ridden and absorbed into crime, corruption, perpetrating injustices, or causing harm even death to acquire favor in a “Material world”. WE were meant to stand on higher ground as a collective, equal in every aspect of our divine design.
Being in a state that calls anyone to “Step outside of themselves” is not sustainable and will only implode upon them. What we are experiencing in this country right now is a “Call to fight for our Souls”. It is beyond serious, and it will eventually come for every one of us. So, get ready! Be ready! Do your part as a “Moses” to stand against the “Pharaohs” of this world to secure the birthright of freedom for all of humanity.
It’s an age-old story, this fight for freedom. My ancestors read the ageless stories in the bible. My ancestors wrote the songs about freedom and sang those songs in the fields and when they cuddled white children at their breast.
My ancestors had to be tenacious and courageous like Moses to secure their freedom in this country and around the world after being taken from our Motherland. We can all be the Moses spiritual energy that sets our undocumented, our poor, our underserved, our multitude of ethnicities that are marginalized and abused FREE. We can secure the safety and wellbeing of our children in a world that is compassionate, just, and sustainable. WE can reach that mountain top that Martin envisioned. They will know who we are by the power of our love and the beauty of our souls.

Today we must make our voices and intentions known! The vote and stance that our Supreme Court of outrageously racist Judges took in respect to immigrants seeking asylum from “Crimes Against Humanity”, is blatantly cruel and evil. I could not in good conscious stand back and not respond to this act of cruelty.
Today we meet the chaos and destruction that is being perpetrated on our humanity, face to face. This is the beginning of the global transition of power into the hands of those that see the need for change and compassion that fuels the universal principle of “radical love” as the dove of peace rises to meet the volume of our voices that will not be silenced or deterred.
We are here for the long haul, no matter how long it takes. We will birth a world that is better than this. We see what this world is doing to our children and know that we must be held accountable to protect them in this mess.
The negative and vile energy that is driving this corruption and greed, will never ever be able to prevail. People whose “Soul is Alive and Awake” know that “Karmatic Spiritual Justice” is going to resolve this hateful, greed and supremacy driven criminal action accountable! But we must do our part as well!
This is our time women of compassionate spirits to answer the “Call”, there is no more time or room for apathy or feeling helpless, we have to remember and awaken to who are as women. Change is coming, there is no doubt in my mind, as “Great Spirit” as our leader guiding our steps, with angels surrounding us on the right and on our left, there are no weapons that can form against us or that will turn us back. WE are the “Agents of Compassion”! WE are Standing Up! WE are Showing Up! and WE are Speaking UP!

The Tapestry of Humanity

Today I want us to continue this journey of discovering the connectedness of our faith expressions. I want us to uplift more of the faith community’s perspective of prayer, meditation, and the life force energy that sustains our “Soul essence and identity”-“Love”!
Today I want us to get a sense of what Buddhism, Sikhism, Indigenous Spiritual Traditions, African Spiritual Traditions, and the Bahá’i faith gifts our faith-based expressions with. I want us to discover the treads of who we are and to whom we belong to that create this human tapestry.
Buddhism attributes prayer as being expressed as aspirations, blessings, and intentions for all beings. Meditation is the heart of the Buddhist practice. They feel that meditation as an instrument that expresses awareness, compassion, wisdom and inner peace. Love, which is called “Metta”, is an expression of loving-kindness. There is the intention to cultivate unconditional love for -Self-Family-Friends-Strangers-and even enemies.
Sikhism holds a space for prayer as a way of remembering the “One Creator” throughout daily life. It is not something that is separate from us. Meditation is as simple and uncomplicated as the repetition fo God’s name (Naam Simran) which brings in peace and clarity to your soul. Love is seen as the bridge between the soul and God. The Sikh teachings emphasize Service, Equality, Compassion, and Humility.
Indigenous Spiritual Traditions are so different in the ways or rituals that are identified among nations and peoples, and at the same time many share common themes. Prayer in “Indigenous Spirituality” is often woven into everyday life through ceremony, songs, dance, gratitude, and relationship with nature. In reference to the ritual of meditation, is can occur through silence, vision quest, cloud watching,-my favorite daily ritual-listening to water, observing the stars, or sitting with the land. Love is a powerful gift and is expressed as a right relationship with the “Creator”, ancestors, community, Earth, animals, and future generations. How expansive and intentional is that expression of “Love”? Love is understood as belonging and reciprocity.
African Spiritual Traditions which can be found to some degree in the texture and context of the “African American Christian Churches, includes honoring ancestors, community rituals, drumming, song, and direct communication with “Spirit”. Meditation emerges through rhythm, storytelling, ceremony, and creation together. The spirit of Ubuntu is foundational as it teaches “I am because we are “!
The Bahá’i Faith believes that prayer nourishes the soul. The faith teaches that meditation helps people receive divine guidance and wisdom. Love is considered the force that unites humanity as one family. The Bahá’i teachings emphasize that humanity’s spiritual future depends upon learning to love beyond race, nation, religion, and class.
There is more elements in each of these faith communities that unite us than divides us. When we come to these faiths with an open heart, clarity of mind, and an honest soul desire to heal this broken world and the people that inhabit this magnificent planet, we have to acknowledge that across the world’s traditions, we see remarkable patterns of commonality. Prayer opens the heart! Prayer is the language of the heart! Meditation quiets the mind! Meditation is the listening of the “Soul”! Love awakens the “Soul”! Love is the bridge that unites all creation!
It absolutely does not matter if we are kneeling in a church, bowing in a mosque, chanting in a temple, sitting beneath a tree, watches the clouds, listens to the ocean, or sings in ceremony, the intention is often the same because when all is said and done, we are being called to remember who we are, whose we are, and how we are meant to live with one another in love, peace, joy, respect, and compassion.
The longing we feel and express our interconnection to one another. Unconsciously, we have a longing to awaken to love and compassion.
The Longing we have to live in harmony with one another and with Creation. I see our humanity as a great tapestry.
Each culture is a thread.
Each faith is a color.
Each person is a unique expression of the Divine.
If we remove a single thread and the tapestry is diminished.
If we but honor every thread the tapestry will reveal its beauty that is a reflection of the “Creator”- beauty and grace beyond the imagination of human understanding.
The Tapestry of Humanity is created with the following threads:
The Thread of “Love”.
The Thread of “Compassion”.
The Thread of “Faith”.
The Thread of the “Gift of Children”.
The Thread of the “Wisdom and Discernment of the Ancestors”.
The Thread of the sacred space that the “Community” holds for us.
The Thread of the “Majesty and Beauty of the Earth” that supports our life force.
The Thread of “Hope” that sustains us.
The Thread of “Justice” that evolves our soul’s essence.
And lastly-
The Thread of Peace that binds our interconnection to one another.

We have to do better! We have to be better!
The Tapestry of Humanity

Children deserve a better world than what we are providing them! Why is hate so deeply embedded in our souls? We were not created this way! I remember my sister Lark telling us as she transitioned, that all there really is – is love! She was seeing both sides of the veil! She saw who and what we have the potential of expressing when we decide to “be our highest selves”!
What a magnificent world we could create that would sustain our lives as individuals, as a collective and as a planet! I believe that if we set and practice an intention globally to change the vibration at which are planet is vibrating by, we can move the energy of love and peace to circulate and evolve as a species to where we were intended to be! It can happen if each of us reach out to others and pass this challenge on to pray or meditate daily.
It says in the Bible to “Pray without ceasing”! If in fact being a loving soul encompasses all the ingredients to overcome hatred, lack of compassion, lust for power and greed, racism, lack of self-worth based on lack of self-love and loving others, then perhaps our prayer should be as simple as, “Let love fill my soul”!
I have always been curious about how other faiths relate to the ritual of prayer and meditation, as well as their views on “Love”. From my own personal experience as a follower of Christ, I know that prayer is an intimate conversation with God. It is a moment-by-moment opportunity to engage Soul to “Spirit” without predefined rules or limitations. It is raw, open, and uncensored communication. I see prayer or meditation as being one in the same, because it is a “Time In” with the Holy Spirit! As followers of Christ, I believe that we are called to see “Love” as the highest spiritual virtue.
Being also a person that has lineage in both Christianity (and I say that not in terms of the institution but in reverence to following the Christ Principles) and Judaism, I see how prayer is a practice of aligning oneself with God and remembering that life is a sacred gift. As an extension of that ritual of praying, I see meditation in Judaism where there is an opportunity for contemplation and opening up a deeper awareness of the Divine. Love in Judaism is a calling to express compassion, justice, kindness and repairing or healing the world.
In the Islamic faith prayer is seen as moments of returning to God throughout the day and so they pray 5 daily prayers. That means that they actually stop and go into a sacred space with God throughout their day. Meditation is the practice of remembrance and involves repeating the names and attributes of God to quiet the heart. In terms of the significance of “Love” is the Islamic faith, it sees God as the Source of Mercy. Love is to be demonstrated through mercy, generosity, humility and service.
In the Hinduism faith, prayer has many forms of expression. There is the ritual of chanting, devotion, offerings, or silent communion. In terms of meditation, in Hinduism, one of the central spiritual practices, is helping the soul remember its unity with the “Divine”. Love in Hinduism is known as “Bhakti” which is considered to be devotional love. When you have a devotion to something so sacred in your life, the context and content of your soul expression can be a real power of healing. Many of the Hindu teachings see love as the pathway through which we as a soul reunites with the “Divine”
I want to continue to explore these different expressions of faith that have captured the soul expression or so many in our humanity. I want to understand how they are interconnected and speak to a universal truth that we somehow fail to see and consequently has thrown us into a tailspin of suspicion, resentment, exclusion, ethnocentrism, and hypocrisy of who we really are in relation to each other.
These expressions were not by original intention meant to divide us, they were meant to find ways to connect with the “Creator”, “The One Source”, “Great Spirit”, “God”. The terms that we have come up with to in sacred eternal relationship, are in the scheme of things really irrelevant and distortions of “Truth”! Let’s continue to explore and find the common ground! This is the only way to sustain our “humanity”

We have to always build a bridge over the troubled waters that would seek to divide us and separate us from one another! In truth we are one race, one humanity, all entitiled to the resources and provisions this planet has ordained for us. There is no lack an limitation, just a willingness to release fear and fill our cups with “Love”!

This morning I responded to a post from a mother with an autistic child. She was voicing her concern about the readiness skills of her 5 year old daughter. I don’t usually go into any great detail in offering advice or suggestions, but this post, these words that the mother shared, somehow touch my heart. It was as though I could feel her emotions and the anxiety that had taken hold of her. I feel that recently since we are living in this revengeful regime, that children with special and unique needs are being attacked. It really offends the heart space I carry for children.
It struck me on how little we realize how great a connection we have with one another on a vibrational level. We interact and engage but there is so much more needed and involved in being a part of humanity. We need each other. We need to know that we can count on each other. We need to know that the pain and circumstances of one affects all of us. Sometimes we are totally unaware of when something happens in our lives that it might be because of something that transpired in another person’s life.
Sometimes as beings of this masterpiece –humanity, have to do things for the greater good of all of us that share this world. I think that experience and what we are dealing with now with the current regime and the strife and chaos that is being imposed on not just in our country -the United States- but what is being inflicted on others around the world is another example of how the decisions of those in “Power”, impact all of us as an interconnected humanity.
Can you imagine what condition this world would be in if we worked in concert with one another? Some of us have distance our selves from the moral compass that taught us that, “I am my brother’s keeper”! I for one will always choose compassion over indifference. I will always choose Agape unconditional Pragma –Enduring Love over hate and jealousy. I will always choose to be a voice for those that are enslaved to poverty and injustice. I will always strive to be mindful of the plight of others and live my life from a place of gratitude and humility. I’m too blessed to not share my blessings with others.

Take a moment to day to reflect on how we are interconnected to all of humanity. I know we all from time to time have conversations about other people’s lives and our expectations for what we wish and hope for them in their life’s journey. We must however realize that ultimately each person is taking this walk on their journey in their divine purpose and contract with God. What unfolds in our spirit and personage is amazing growth. We are called to love and support each person in our circle of influence and care, because that is what is to be part of the “whole”.
We must never hold on to each other’s challenges and life experiences in judgment. We are being used to guide and support, knowing that “God is not through with any of us yet. I pray that others will let God do His work with us, in us and, through us. When we engage with one another without passing judgment but giving grace, Love, and patience, we fulfill our purpose for being connected to each other. No two paths are the same. No path is better than another. Each path is a walk with God who ultimately is in charge.
We each unfold at our appointed timeline and become and reveal our destiny call!
We can’t have faith in God and His intimate relationship in our lives and take it upon ourselves to question the course of some else’s life.
We honor, respect and acknowledge that we love the people in our life and want the best for them. Being in relationship with someone calls us to take the time to share their concerns and for us to have the same opportunity.
We must all have a safe place to be ourselves, and to allow others as well to have a safe place, to grow through life’s experiences. I have faith that God is navigating our lives and that we are fulfilling the desires of His heart for us so that ultimately this life journey will be beautiful and fulfilling. God gathered us together to be instruments of his love, grace and mercy to and for the world, but first these attributes must be tested and practiced within and among our own family and friends.
I saw my parents stand for us during the most difficult periods of our coming to be our divine selves. They spoke their minds through their hearts. It was never about them it was always giving us time to express and explore and yes sometimes fail, but we knew that they would love us though our quest to find ourselves. For each child it looked different because we were each different.
I don’t expect everyone to understand, but after so many years of living, my eyes are wide open to see beyond what is on this physical plain. I read hearts and souls. We can never let our family become victimized by the world that wants us to be torn apart. We must fight like hell to protect each other and our family as an eternal unit. We have traveled together for many lifetimes and will for many to come. This is the most important job we have.
There are times that God has to heal relationships in our family and with those that we proclaim to be our friends, so we can live life in a space of harmony and wellbeing. But we must be open and available to Him!
Please reach out to each other because we owe that first to God and then to each other! As parents we need to stand for them and with each other for that is the only way you can survive and thrive in this world. You all need each other!

So, breathe deeply! Close your eyes and visualize something that brings you back into homeostasis with your soul expression. May today bring you a sense of peace, joy, and moments of feeling loved and validated for who you are and what you are gifting humanity.

There is A Better Way to Live and Let Live!
End the violence, greed, and judgment!
First of all, God the Father three in one is not coming back again because He never left. The flesh was sacrificed but the Spirit of God resides within each of us that know He is the Alpha and Omega. God speaks to us as individuals, families, communities of faith, and in cultural context that meets our needs as a global society.
God is still speaking and His truth and words to us go beyond the Bible, Koran etc. Don’t get stuck at the foundations of the different religious ideologies and theologies.
It is time to be in our quiet sacred spaces and listen to His words that are calling us to love, respect, honor and care for one another! He is clear!
Feed the hungry! (physically, spiritually and emotionally)
Clothe the naked!
Educate everyone in our global society!
House the homeless!
Realize that the world belongs to each of us regardless of race, ethnicity, citizenship, wealth, illusions of power and physical or mental capacity. In reality not in the altered state of illusions, we are all equal. One race –the human race.
Provide employment and support each other in living sustainable lives that nurture self-worth so that crime and violence are not viable answers to broken lives and tormented souls because people know they are loved and accepted unconditionally and without judgment!
End the violence and substance abuse. We are not living our lives in our divinity that was our birthright! Compassion, Unconditional Love, Respect, Acceptance, Ethics, Grace and Mercy are the principles we must embrace and put into action in our daily lives.
God instills in us innate intuitive knowledge and wisdom of right from wrong to live by, that covers everything we need to sustain our humanity and live in peace and joy! The answers lie within our individual souls and our collective humanity if we so choose to live those essential elements.
My stream of consciousness is evolving from this space of “wanting” to change to another space that I feel emerging, but I don’t know what that is until “Spirit” speaks! I’m listening for the still quiet voice that resides in my soul! Listen for that still quiet voice that resides in you as well and together we as a collective consciousness will birth a new world of peace, agape love, justice, compassion, joy, that will allow us to embrace each other unconditionally, meeting each other just where they are.
