Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame.
With conquering limbs astride from land to land:
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lighting, and her name
Mother of Exiles.
From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
“Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she
With silent lips.
“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!
(For Thee?)
Dear ‘Great Spirit”,
Today is a day that we must come to grips that we are being besieged by people that have no compassion or empathy and in fact seem to get pleasure and satisfaction in causing pain and cruelty to other people. They are making decisions that through their political ideology and policies are intentionally reflective of their racism and greed for wealth and supremacy. We are facing terror in our communities’ watching families and undocumented people being kidnaped off the street, dragged out of their homes, assaulted and arrested at their jobs. So many people are afraid of leaving their house and will consequently lose their jobs, their homes, and the ability to provide for their families.
In my lifetime, I have seen these same acts of terror being perpetrated on different ethnic groups and different sectors of people who have taken up the cause for freedom and justice. The frightening thing about all of this is that we as a so called “Civilized Society” never seem to learn from the karmatic judgment that befalls those that execute “Crimes Against Humanity”. “Great Spirit”, we need your intercession in this world! We need your power and the courage and of all the angles to ward off this evil that is destructive and out of alignment with the purpose and divinity of YOUR HUMANITY. Somehow the people on this planet have forgotten who is in charge! They have forgotten from whence they come and who their Creator is.
“We need Thee Oh, We need Thee,
Every hour we need,
O Bless us now “Great Spirit”
We come to Thee.
We Need Thee every hour
Stay thou nearby
Temptations lose their power
When Thou art nigh
Please feel inspired to comment in the comment section if you or someone you know would like to be added to our prayer list. We are praying without ceasing!
