What in the world are we are we thinking? Have we not learned anything from the current global state of affairs that we are all in? Have we not learned that we must create a new way of conducting our lifestyles if we are to move forward and thrive? We can’t keep up in the hectic, erratic, and nonsensical pace that had engulfed our very existence! We have to take stock of what we have in our lives that is important to us and hold on those things and people that are truly relevant to the quality of our life.
We have to shift through all the unnecessary foolishness that has not only cluttered our homes, but our minds. It would be advisable for us to create a timeline on how we spend our time. Let’s look at one 24-hour day in our life to see just how we spend our time. What are some of the things we prioritize and where do we fit into what is important in our day? Sometimes I come to the end of my day, and I can’t even remember what I did and where the time went. Hustling through a day to try to do more than is humanly possible has to stop! We just have to realize that what we were doing and how we were living was not going to sustain us.
We are moving in a new direction now. We are taking charge of our lives and although we are in the world, we don’t have to be of the world. We are going to learn how to slow down and do things in our life more methodically and intentionally. We are going to practice making a list of what we want to do the next day. I suggest we do this just before we go to bed. Read the list back to ourselves and look at it realistically to see if it is plausible in just “one day”. Then go to sleep and don’t give it another thought. I promise you -you will only get done the next day “what God intended” and you are off the hook.
We are going to start our day in our “Sacred Spiritual Space”. That “Sacred Spiritual Space” where we are one with ourselves and our Creator! We are to start our day in a mindset of “Gratitude”. We are to take deep breaths and claim the day to be our day of peace, joy, love, and opportunities to “be in the moment”! We are not going to rush through our day and be physically and spiritually drained. We are going to take time to nourish our bodies, minds, and spirits.
We are going to take time to stop and engage with people in meaningful conversations. We are going to take time to eat meals that we have prepared and have at least 2-3 good healthy meals everyday so that we are caring for our body. We are going to do our best to not bring work home both physically, mentally, or emotionally. We are going to store our shoes from our day that have been out in the world, outside our home. It is best for us to not walk the woes of the world into the sanctity of our home.
We are to set up boundaries in our live as well. We have to be able to confidently say yes when we want to, and no when it suits us. It is important to be clear with people from the start what our boundaries are. We have these boundaries not in an effort to shut people out but to protect ourselves from being on overload and overwhelmed. We have to demonstrate to people that we honor and respect ourselves if we expect them to do that to us in return!
Mommie always said to “start out the way we want to end up”. I am so excited about slowing down and making better choices that will in the long run, expand my life in many different directions. Today is my sister Patty’s, “un-birthday”, and yes there is a family story about that. We decided to pretend today-Friday- was going to be spent like it was a “Saturday”. What does that mean? We intentionally moved in “slow motion”. We made no long-range plans for the day, and we just leisurely moved through the day. Family dropped in like “the good old days”, and we savored our time together and just lived in the moment we were sharing with each other. Time is precious and we have to make sure we use our time wisely so that we are enjoying our life’s journey.
Remember- “Haste makes waste”!
So, breathe deeply! Close your eyes and visualize something that brings you back into homeostasis with your soul expression. May today bring you a sense of peace, joy, and moments of feeling loved and validated for who you are and what you are gifting humanity.
Ashé! Have a Blessed Day!
**Note: These recordings are based on my blog writings, and all of this comes through Spirit. The recordings are a reflection of the writings and are not edited because I do not want to alter what is coming to me through “Great Spirit”. I am not seeking perfection, only serving as a vessel to bring love, peace, and joy, to our humanity.
Thank You, Jim Brickman for your beautiful music that vibrates through this recording. This is a selection from his album – “Music to Quiet Your Mind and Sooth Your World”.
