“Let go and Let Spirit Run My Life”!
I SURRENDER All
What does it mean to surrender to the “Holy Spirit”, “God the Father”, “Three in One”?
It does not mean we are released from working on our lives, or doing our part to navigate through difficulties and challenges we are confronted with, but there is a sense of serenity and peace that surpasses all understanding, when we have a knowing that there is a Higher Power that resides within us that has our “backs”. It is not easy in our human condition to actually release control of any aspect of our lives. We have an innate need to “Be in Control”! We want to “Be in Charge”. If we think we can have complete control over our life and the circumstances that arise in our life, then we are fooling ourselves! Life can be simple, but not that simple. We can’t sit around and try to battle and manipulate everything we are confronted with that takes out of our sacred space or disrupts the harmony and flow of our “live streaming life”. We must do our part to have input in what comes our way, but at the same time we have to at some point in our lives realize that “it’s really ok”, to “Let Go” and “Let God”. The lesson of surrendering is perhaps the most difficult and supreme lesson in life. When you evolve to that vibration where you can let go and allow the universe and the Infinite to intercede on your behalf, it is amazing how much peace and beauty your life will reflect, both inwardly and outwardly. It life takes on a radiance of divinity and wholeness you deserve.
Now I am not saying this is in any way easy! I struggle with “handing it over to God” and then quietly and hesitantly, grab it back into my realm, only for the situation to sometimes become more complicated and I become more out of sorts- or “beside myself”! It is another daily practice, one situation at a time. Some days I am more confident and trusting than other days. I should add that when I do surrender, usually the results are in my favor and in my best interest. It is so amazing how songs and words from your childhood can play back in our mind and connect to things we are currently dealing with. One of my favorite hymns as a youth, which is when I started really searching and evolving in my spiritual faith, was the hymn, “I Surrender All”.
It doesn’t matter what word or ethos you choose to use to try to name that Spirit that is beyond the verbal restrictions of language and culture. As for me I was comfortable and enthralled with the name “Jesus”. Something always, even today, happens to me on a physical and spiritual vibration that I can relate to. So thus the hymn-
I Surrender All
ALL TO JESUS I SURRENDER
ALL TO HIM I FREELY GIVE
I WILL EVER LOVE AND TRUST HIM
IN HIS PRESENCE DAILY LIVE.
I SURRENDER ALL
I SURRENDER ALL
ALL TO THEE MY BLESSED SAVIOR
I SURRENDER ALL.
I pray that you too find that which give you the comfort of being so you are able to surrender those things in your life that cause you pain, pause and confusion. You deserve only peace, joy, and comfort.
Ashè!
