I always saw imagination or to be imaginative as our ability to call into being that which is beyond ordinary. When we were children in our natural state of being, we seem to have unlimited ability to utilize our minds and spirits to dream and create the most wonderful and unique experiences. We were not chained to manufactured toys, in order to slip into our own world of wonder and imaginative play. We need to remember how to access that gift of imagination. With this gift we can color and texturize the world we live in to be filled with joy and excitement. We can create situations and inventions that trigger a more wholesome and humane society. It is a gift if nurtured and protected, will be a vital part of our own emotional and spiritual wellbeing. It takes us to another plane of existence where we are captains of the ship that we are sailing through this journey called, “life”.
Accessing our imagination and being imaginative keeps in touch with parts of our soul essence. We cannot afford to let anyone or anything strip of us of engaging in imaginative acts of creation. It is time well spent on so many levels of being in a homeostasis condition in mind, body and spirit. When, just like children, we are engaged in our creative and imaginative self, we can do and be anything our hearts desire. It is a blissful state of being where we can actually on a cellular level, actually feel our entire being – mind body and soul- alive and activated. It is a sensorial experience that feeds our soul and sets us in a state of complete “freedom of expression” –
We see glimpses of our own divinity! How amazing is that? It is a raw, un-prescribed, and an unscripted, “happening”! It is not open to criticism or judgment! It belongs to you! It is not bound by being relevant or current because it is timeless. It is created and experienced by the creator –you/me- as something that our souls needed to express and engage in. Can you imagine what the world would be like if we as adults remembered how it felt to engage with our imagination and creativity void of any interference? Can you imagine what the world would be like if we –as do children-engaged in play as our work and work as our play?
One thing for sure, we would see healthier people physically, emotionally and spiritually if we let go and engaged in more creativity and our vivid imaginations. My intention is to always have a remembering of the beauty that I can create in my mind and bring to fruition, so that I will be called upon by “Great Spirit” to always have a wanting and a desire to explore the world of my imagination.
