Choosing Your Perspective on Life-There is Power in Words!

Children stand tall in the power of their divine identity!
They are not all caught up in words to experience their world.
Their senses tune them into the wholeness of who they are.
They come to us liberated, while we are still looking for liberation.
Perhaps that is the answer to loving and liking ourselves.
Reach back and connect with your essential being- the child spirit within you.

I have been doing a lot of thinking about the “new paradigm” I want to create for a new lifestyle or life practice. I see this venture as setting me on a course to live an even better quality of life, serve humanity from a deeper heart space, and to put into practice my values that make me who I am in the world. I want to have an even healthier perspective on life and what I have the potential of experiencing in life.  To do this I have to check in with the words I am using in expressing myself and the context in which I am using those words. Words reflect an energy that we impose on them and consequently impact not only us but those that intentionally or unintentionally receive what we say.  I have a ritual every morning of saying this prayer out loud to myself, “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, Oh Lord my strength and my redeemer”.

It is such a difficult task to stay conscious all day long of making sure that what comes out of my mouth is not hurtful, offensive, void of compassion or empathy, or would any way seem spiteful or judgmental.  It is in our human condition a moment-by-moment challenge to be aware that we are being kind and respectful not just to other people but to ourselves as well.  We can all struggle with a tendency to belittle ourselves or demean our value. I have a bad habit of saying “little” before everything I do.  It drives my sister Patty crazy!  Examples: Someone will say, “Did you know that Beth is a writer and has published?” I will respond, “Oh well, it is just a little book…” or someone will say, “Did you know that Beth can sing?” and I will respond with my famous words, “Oh, just a little or not really”. I even have another bad habit of signing emails or other correspondence with “Just-Beth”. I know I am only 5 feet tall, but where did I get this “little thing from?  I sometimes take this humility thing too far I know, but I don’t want to overshadow other people.  Unfortunately, though, the word “Little” has carried a vibration that has at times impacted my growth and that is not healthy.  I gave “little” too much power! And now I know I must omit that word from describing myself and my “work” because otherwise I will not fulfill “my destiny call”.

We all probably have words that are major players on how we perceive ourselves and the world we live in.  Take inventory of your vocabulary and set yourself free from saying things that don’t empower you in your life. Use words that will lift your vibration so that you are alive and vibrant in your life.  We can choose our perception of life and make it as beautiful and exciting as we want. It’s our choice! So let’s get busy!!
