One of my friends posted a picture of a Lenticular cloud and it just fascinated me!! I just had to research what they were and why I had a feeling that somehow there was a connection to what they are to something that could be described in our life. “These lens-shaped orographic wave clouds, as they are called, form when the air is stable, and winds blow across hills and mountains from the same or similar direction at different heights through the troposphere.” Pilots try to avoid flying near lenticular clouds because of the turbulence that accompany them. Gliders like them because they can tell from the shape of the clouds where the air will be rising. Remember the shape of the cloud is described as “being lens shaped”. There is something to that description!!!
Truth is that sometimes I can identify with the mountain that has a Lenticular cloud waving above its head. Does that make sense to you? I visualize that there are moments in our life when we feel a heavy presence hanging over our head. We can be feeling grounded and stable, and then all of a sudden, a wave of wind blows in our direction, hangs over us and feels like it is suspended in space. It came through with a downward flow that permeates through our whole being. What do we do with that Lenticular cloud that has swept into our space and seemingly taken up residence without our asking? They can be turbulent in their posture and cause us to be uprooted and disheveled. Do we sit still in our power of peace and inner control and let that cloud pass away, without letting in engulf us.
There will be Lenticular clouds that challenge and stress us out like a wave over our being. But we have within us a store house of spiritual strength that we can call into action, that can defuse any turbulence and chaos that might try to initiate a response from us that takes us out of our happiness and joy! We can’t let anyone rain or cloudy up the beauty of our life’s parade! We’ve got to just keep moving forward knowing that this cloud can also give us “another lens” to where we are and what we need to pay attention to in our life. There is that element of perspective again. Maybe we must start looking at the two sides to everything.
