decency, trust, integrity, justice, and honesty.
Well, I really don’t know where to begin to digest this circus of events that is taking up all the air in our universe. I dare say that the Trump affairs and all the backlash of the Conservative privileged and those that are not aware that they are not privileged but under the illusion that they are really of any significance to them other than what they can use them for and get from them, are turning our country upside down and inside out.
I don’t really write about specific political events as a rule, but the fiasco that I am watching and being bombarded by, is really too much of a dangerous drama. The institutions that I grew up having some sense of trust and faith in are in shambles. The institutions that I thought were held to a higher standard, have completely abandoned ethics, integrity, justice, law and order, and basic common sense and decency. The moral fiber of our politicians, and the systems they have responsibility for are seemingly the least of their concern and focus. We are struggling to get their attention on the tasks we sent them to Congress to attend to for the benefit of the citizens we sent them there to represent.
I think the operative word is “representing”! They have become “politicians” and forgot they were supposed to be “representatives of their constitutes”! Politicians operate out of self-interest. Representatives operate in the best interest of the people they “serve” and actually make an effort to listen to what their wants and needs are.
Somehow, if we can retain the presidency, become the majority in Congress, and infiltrate the Supreme Court, that is completely out of balance not just in terms of conservative vs democratic, but in terms of any moral conscious of right and wrong. They have become “politicians” as well. This is not how the highest court in our country has been designed to operate. We have got to begin to “call people out” with our voice and our vote! There are serious world issues that we as a country are involved in and we need the best of who we are to be at the helm of our government. This is no time to be a laughingstock in the world’s view. We cannot put our country in harms way. We have lost the respect of the world, and we have to work overtime to earn their respect and trust.
