Today We Honor the Men and Women that Have Fought for Justice, Peace, and Compassion Around the World!

One Nation, Under God, With Liberty and Justice for All!

Hear Our Prayer “Great Spirt”!

There is No Way “Great Spirit” that you could have made this world any more beautiful and bountiful than you did!  We, however, as you know are lost and are wading around in darkness and confusion. We need thee to pull us out of the muck that is stealing the very air we need to breathe in our freedom.  Today we must pay homage to those men and women who fought for our freedom and liberty.  We know that our soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice to but themselves in harm’s way so that we would not have to sacrifice our lives.  They went to the frontlines of tyranny and greed to level the playing field so that our lives would be protected from greed of wealth, power, and absolute control of our humanity.  These soldiers that have and are fighting to maintain some semblance of peace in our world, must be guided, nurtured, and protected in context to being in alignment with your heart’s desire for humanity.

In America, today as we acknowledge these brave men and women that have upheld the Constitution of the United States of America, it is imperative that you work with them and through them to abide by the laws and principles of our Constitution and Declaration of Independence.  Help them to uphold the purpose of our country to be a beacon light of freedom, justice, equality, compassion, and unity of abiding by the principles and practices under which we are striving to be a “more perfect union” of democracy.

We are engulfed in a world that is completely out of control and by what we can surmise, we have very little control over what is going on, or so the forces of tyranny and greed would like us to think.  We must remember that what we do have control over is how we respond to these conditions.  We are at a pivotal point in the history of humanity as individuals and as a collective.  The course we take now to ensure peace, decency, love and compassion for one another across this planet, will determine our future as a specie.

We are never in this turmoil by ourselves.  We have the love and protection of “Great Spirit” covering us from the time we rise in the morning light to the evening moon when we lay our heads down at night.   We cannot resist the throngs of this evil and destruction that is assaulting our world if we fall into despair and succumb to a state of paralysis.  We all must come through this experience of what we are battling with the same courage and determination that we have witnessed in our soldiers who laid down their lives for our freedom.

We must be of good heart and not slip into darkness and despondency.  Guide us to being a light that lifts the vibration of the world.  We have more work to do and will always have more work to do if we are going to have a world we want to live in and a world we want our children to inherit.  So, with that in mind, and in remembrance of who we are honoring today, thank you to all our fallen soldiers and thank you to all the soldiers that are in service to our country today.

Footnote:  This is personal for me because my daughter Nicole, served in the United States Coast Guard for over 14 years and was deployed overseas to protect the integrity of our country and from childhood identified herself as a “Guardian of the Sea”. I am a proud Mommie.

Mama said,“Stop Complaining and Just Do Something Constructive”!  Day 31 -ADC 24

Just Kamala and Tim, I am “Taking back my country’s Flag and
“Standing up for the principles of our Constitution” on which our Democracy is founded.

From my entire childhood I cannot remember a time that an American flag did not fly proudly at our home and at my Dad’s Church. We said the pledge of allegiance every morning at school, and at special events. I had an affinity to this flag as a symbol of our country trying to become a place of possibilities for all its citizens, a refuge for people in need of sanctity, and a promise that I had some control over my destiny in this country. I valued the support our government provided for the disabled and people struggling economically. From a child’s perspective in the era of my childhood, the flag gave me a sense of security. As a teenager and college student I came through the Civil Rights Movement and the Viet Nam War, and my faith in my country took a devastating hit.

The imperfections and contradictions of the people and the actions of our government, disappointed me and at times angered me.  I had personal experiences with how the laws of the land were delved out in alignment with your economic status, class lineage, and the color of your skin.  Our parents were civil rights activist, so we were exposed to a different side of the “American Dream”, but at the same time they taught us that our country was worth the efforts to stand up for the possibilities of what our country had the potential of being for us and in the world.

I can’t give up on the dream of living in a country that cares about all it’s people.  I can’t give up on the beacon light of hope and stability our country can provide for war torn countries and countries where people live in famine and hopelessness.   I can’t give up on the country of my birth, even though it is an everyday struggle to feel honored and respected.  In recent years the symbolism the flag had in my life began to not just fade but frighten me as I began to sense that the conservative element had confiscated it and used it to promote its agenda of hate and divisiveness.

As I see that flag in so many of the pictures with our candidates and as I saw it at our Democratic Convention, something stirred within me, and I felt a renewal of my relationship with “MY” country.  I refuse to allow this element of destruction and hatred take my country backwards instead of moving it forward to the manifestation of becoming the dream of being a more “Perfect Union!  I bought a new American flag, and I am having it installed in the very spot on our family home where my father hung it for over 50 years.  We have the power and tenacity to save our Democracy and our country.  Get the VOTE OUT!  Blue up and down the ballot!!! Fly our flag everywhere you can, and the bell of liberty ring out across this country!  We are not going back!

Sunday Morning Prayers-#35 Coasting Through Life Does Not Reap the Life We Deserve

I pray that we live the fullness of our lives and not resort to
coasting through our divine life’s journey.

“Great Spirit”,

We come to thee asking for your support in helping us stay the course of living the fullness of life that you endowed us with and to not be distracted by the woes and chaos of this uncanny world that seeks to steal our joy and power to manifest our “best life”. We don’t want to “coast” through life, we want all the beauty, grace, mercy, compassion, joy, and peace- a peace that surpasses all understanding that this world could but imagine.  We want to share these precious gifts to bring light and hope to humanity.

We know what power lies in these gifts and how they can shift the consciousness of all those that have clarity of mind, heart, and soul.  This energetic force of being wholly and intentional about living a full and enriched life is a birthright of every human being.  We must always remember who we are and how you love each of us as your divine creations.

We know your intention for our life is that we have all that we need as well as the desires of our heart as long as we are supportive of others realizing those dreams and aspirations for their life. We know that with this desire to live the fullness of a good life it requires humility of spirit so that we live our lives from a position of gratitude.  Gratitude impacts all arenas of our life’s journey. Without a grateful heart we are lost to this world that wants to distract us from our joy and fulfillment.  Open our eyes that we might see the glorious promises you have in store for us!  Open our ears so that we might hear the sweet whispers of love you have for us.  Open our minds so that we use the intelligence you imparted in us to know clearly right from wrong, truth from lies, justice from injustice, and compassion from judgment.  We have so much potential to manifest a “good life”, a life of purpose and fulfillment.  Hear this prayer of thanksgiving for unselfishly giving us a life that only our imagination can limit.

Ashe!  Ashe! Amen!

This blog is in honor and memory for my Aunt Pearl, who at the tender age of 103 years of age made her transition to heaven today.  She lived a life engulfed in love. Love of God! Love of self! (which was her secret for living such a long and beautiful life)- Love and devotion to Family and Love of humanity!
