#6 -A Thought 4 Wednesday To Carry You Through This Beautiful Day! Setting An Intention to Engage

Wednesday provides the opportunity for us to seek out thoughtful and purposeful conversations. I love this because I love to engage in conversation with people. I am not an idle kind of conversationalist because I am always seeking ways to learn more truth, and get people’s take on their life experiences. My husband would end his sermons on the quote “There is always more truth and knowledge to absorb in this vast an amazing universe”! This is so true and is such an amazing gift to take advantage of in our daily lives.
I find that when you are open and receptive to listening and talking to people your perspective on life becomes more vital and expansive. I can see clearly how a person’s life experiences color their view on how they respond to other people and situations in life. So many times, we are not really invested in what we are talking about with another person or even really listening to what they are sharing.
There is so much we can learn from each other. The beautiful part of this is that we share our ideas and experiences knowing that we don’t have to put judgement into the conversation or try to persuade someone that we have all the answers and that we are trying to belittle or refute what they are sharing. How we approach and engage someone in conversation dictates just how engaging and purposeful the conversation will be.
To have a fluid and enjoyable conversation with someone we have to let go of our ego and step into our ability to demonstrate humility and grace. People are hungry for meaningful and genuine engagement. So much of the way in which we are living a “hurry get it over” lifestyle, has feed the massive gap of human interaction that is creeping into our way of life. The human design calls for purposeful meaningful engagement. We cannot survive as a collective humanity if we negate that part of who we are.
Think about the last time you actually sat down and held a good conversation with someone. What did it feel like? Did you find elements shared in the conversation resurfacing every once and a while? Did anything in the conversation give you another perspective on something? Did anything in the conversation put a smile on your face? Did you feel like you wanted to get more information about what you were discussing? Did something in the conversation move you emotionally? We need these connections in our lives because our “Spirit” thrives on all the things we discover with and from each other.
So today, on this wonderful Wednesday, open yourself up to setting an intention to engage in a thoughtful and purposeful conversation with someone. Then ask yourself those questions we posed and tell me what you discovered about yourself and the person “Spirit” chose for you to engage with!
So, breathe deeply! Close your eyes and visualize something that brings you back into homeostasis with your soul expression. May today bring you a sense of peace, joy, and moments of feeling loved and validated for who you are and what you are gifting humanity.
