#2 A Thought 4 Friday To Carry You Through This Beautiful Day!
Each Day In Your Life is Unique!
Friday calls us to love ourselves and to be open to loving others that are worthy of our love and attention. You know this actually stems from the quote in the Bible that says “Love they neighbor as you love yourself. This is where it all begins, because in order for us to love others, we must love ourselves. Not in a narcissistic stance, but in an understanding that because we are loved by the “One Source”, “Great Spirit”, “God”, that we are worthy of being loved and are called to express the gift of “Love”. This is where we are asked to also use our gift of “Discernment”, in our process of loving others and who is worthy of our love.
There are different expressions of “Love” that need to be understood because as a gift to give and receive, we must be cognizant of what type of love we gift and what type of love we are willing to receive. We have been clothed by “Agape Love” by our Creator. It is an unconditional, sacrificial, love that is not emotional, it is just pure love. It is the highest form of love that can be received and given. There are primary types of love like “Eros” which is romantic passion that we share with someone that touches are desire for an “in love relationship”. There is “Philia” that is reserved for people we have a deep friendship with.
Then in our familia context there is “Storge” which is reserved for family. It is in the familia experience of loving and being loved that sets the stage for so much of how we express love in our life. You must take the understanding that you were first loved in the mind and soul of your creator and that you are truthfully worthy of being loved through kindness, respect, and compassion. You must choose wisely who you give your love to and who you allow to love you. Let’s take inventory today and assess how we want to demonstrate our knowingness that we are worthy of “healthy” love, and we are living this life experience discerning who is worthy of our love and attention.
