I know this is a big day today that people are engaged in celebrating Valentine’s Day. There are those of us that get expressions of love and admiration from either the partner in our lives, or from friends and family that find different ways to remind us that we are loved. There are also people that do not get these expressions of Valentine’s Day, and perhaps might feel left out of the equation of “Love” and being “Loved”. I try to give my family a little reminder on this day, but I hope that I am showing them and telling them that I love and appreciate them in some expression on a daily basis. I try not to end a conversation, especially with the young adults and children in the family without saying “I love you”! I am not as verbally expressive with my siblings, but I know that I show my love for them. My family has always come first in my life. I feel that I actually have chosen this tribe I belong to from lifetime to lifetime. It is definitely a “Soul connection”.
I also believe that in order to truthfully “Love” other people in our life, we first have to experience what love feels like and looks like. This kind of love that I am talking about has to be experienced within our own being. It is about loving ourselves completely and unconditionally. It is about developing and embracing all the elements of what love is first by giving ourselves those love elements first. What are those elements that make up true, pure, and divine “Love”? Love is-
Unconditionally-
Trust
Integrity
Ethical
Honest
Kind
Gentle
Graceful
Humble
Compassionate
Discerning wise
Passionate
Accepting of things that do not harm or hurt
Patient
Compromising on issues that are not detrimental
Open and Receptive to Listening and being listened to
Non-judgmental
Loyal
Creative and willing to learn and to share our gifts
Self-worth is carried in your “spirit” and colors the fabric of your love
A light heart and a deep soul
It is visionary and believes in life has no limits or challenges that cannot be overcome
Fearless
Faithful
Of course, there is more to this thing we call “Love”, but as we grow our expressions of loving and being love should, by the natural order of things, grow and evolve. When we have recognized, given and received these elements for ourselves, we then not only become able to love others, others see these elements in us and can be open to being loved by us. We manifest it in ourselves, and we attract it from others. The next part of this is to use our discernment to make sure we are equally yoked with those that we chose to love. That equally yoked standard goes for every kind of relationship we engage in, where we chose to share our loving selves with. Choose wisely, you are worth it! Love!
Love Thy self-and to thy self be true!!!
