This was the message that I got yesterday that I thought just got up and disappeared. I’m slow at this, but I now realize that the things I am asked by “Spirit” to share, I am definitely not in charge of. All of a sudden, I was minding my own business and it welded up in my spirit and I received the understanding that there is timing that must be in alignment with what needs to be done at a very specific time. Today, obviously was the day to share this thought. So here goes!
What did Mommy mean by- “That We Had No Choice but to Be “In” The World, -However, We Did Not Need to Be “Of” the World! For one thing, it was definitely one of her daily mantras she shared with us. It was important to her to know that we had armor to protect us from what she saw was such a different culture from what we had grown up in. By the time we were headed to go off to college, we had been given all the tools we needed to not only survive the trials and temptations that try to beat our good old fashion common sense out of us, we were ready with our attitude of “Don’t try that with me, cause you don’t know who I am, and even more profound, you don’t know where I’m coming from.
We were sent out into the world to do what we were called to do, on our terms and with our badge of ethics, integrity, morality, unabashed wisdom, and good conscious, knowing that we were to not only survive, but expected to thrive. We were in the world, but the world did not reside in our soul or character. We were free agents! Destined to be our authentic and righteous selves. I am not saying we were not tempted or tripped occasionally, but we knew if we valued our lives, we better not fall. We at the same time knew that if we did fall from grace, our parents would be right at our side. Somehow having that confidence that we were loved, respected, and trusted, made all the difference in our journey “in the world”.
You see if you get sucked up and become part of the world, you risk losing “you”! You risk going in so deep that sometimes you don’t have the strength and where with all to pull yourself out of the “whales’ tummy”! You can get trapped with the façade of the “world loves you and needs you”! The truth is that the world does need “you”, but it needs the “you” that has not fallen victim to the lust and distraction that “of the world” offers. It needs the fiercely independent, and forthright “you” that is able to “be in the world”, but so awake in their life that they are able to be a positive energy that will enhance humanity. The world needs souls that are willing to take a stand to give love, respect, compassion, and wisdom to our “broken world”! We are called to be the givers of life! We are not the takers that suck the life out of the beauty and grace of a struggling world! We have a vision of what can happen if we collectively demonstrate the “What can be right with the world if we but…”!
No, it is not easy! No, it is not going to happen magically tonight or even tomorrow! But we must be faithful and not fearful, because I know that the world can and will change for the better. Every day I look into the eyes of our Granddaughter Aoluna, -6 months old- and see the hope and excitement that dances throughout her whole body and then radiates outward to the universe through the twinkle in her eyes. It is amazing what they see and know! It is amazing what they bring in from heaven to bless us with and keep us strong in our convictions to usher in Great Spirit’s desire for the world to be as wonderful and beautiful as Spirit had envisioned and provided. “Be in this world” to do good my friends. Be the vibe of redemption! The planet and humanity are worth it. We are all destined to be “Superheroes”.
One act of love and kindness at a time!
