I’m Just Sayin-Notes from Beth #31 -No Two Children are Alike and We Must Love, Respect, and Honor all Children or Who They are!

They more time and energy we invest in our children and grandchildren is the most rewarding investment we could make.

It came to me this morning as I watched my grandchildren how unique, beautiful, and utterly amazing they are.  Each one carries so energetically and organically their “Soul Expressions”.  They keep us enthralled and on our toes from the time they open their eyes, till they close them at night.  I cannot imagine all that encompasses their personalities, but it is an absolute joy to discover something new about them every day.  Moment by moment, they show off the beauty of their intellect, imagination, and zest for life.  They engage in the most creative play and come up with the most extraordinary questions that blow our minds.  I tease the family lots of times and tell them “Not to leave me alone with the kids, cause I don’t know what questions and thoughts they will come up with”.  I tell you children are perhaps the most profound and deep thinkers, that most adults would not believe!

We as adults, particularly parents and educators have to acknowledge that we cannot treat or respond each of our children in the same manner.  We need to carefully study what makes them ‘Tick”! We must respond to each child in a manner that meshes with their personality and character.  We must cut out the bad habit of trying to enforce expectations on them that are out of context to who they are.  We have to be mindful of this as we discipline them because so often, we jump to conclusions or assess situations and behavior from what are purely perceptions from our own life experiences.  Everything that is and happens in life is always evaluated from our own limited life experience and values.  When we are dealing with children, we must see them as clean and clear slates or “souls”!

Children don’t operate with the baggage that has tinted our souls.  They just operate from instinct and spontaneity.  They see the world about them as it is seen in their heart.  They move through their childhood wanting to just be free and be themselves.  We color their behavior by the way we see them and respond to them.  When we are loving and respectful of who they are and relate to their “Divine identity”, it opens a world for them that has limitless and exciting.  They flourish!  They thrive!  They love life!  They love us!  We have to protect them from people that don’t see them for who they are and try to impose their own ideas of who they assess them to be.  No one has the right to do that to a child.  We are their guardians and protectors.
