Sometimes we have to pull back and reflect on what our priorities are in context to the quality of our life. What is taking precedence in our life that impacts our joy for living? What are we giving our time and energy to? What are the things and people that are truthfully contributing to our life? Who and what gives us satisfaction and pleasure in our life? What and who makes us smile? Who makes us feel loved, respected, and cared for? What and who makes us have a thirst for life? Who and what makes us feel our life has purpose and is supportive of our passions? Who are the people that we know our life is important to?
Answering these questions for ourselves will enable us to re-evaluate our priorities and bring our life into alignment. Sometimes we are not aware that are things in our life are out of sorts or alignment and we can become overwhelmed, and we seem to be running in circles. We feel an uneasiness but can’t put our finger on what it is. We use substitutes or fillers to sooth our anxiety. But fillers don’t fill the gap. We deserve to be happy and at ease in our life. To safeguard our quality of life we owe it to ourselves to periodically take stock of the priorities of our life. We must make sure that we have prioritized our priorities so that we are living our best life. We have to make sure that we have the right priority and the top of our list.
I wish I could share what I have discovered in my long life, on what is ultimately the most important priority in a person’s life, but for each person it is personal, and their life circumstances are different. As for me, my family is the most important priority in my life. They check all the questions I have posted to ask ourselves when re-evaluating our priorities. I have always had my family as my first priority. I understand the value of our relationship. I understand that the essence of these relationships is what I will carry with me in my soul’s journey throughout eternity. My family is the greatest blessing of my life!
