I’m Just Sayin- Notes from Beth #41 – Be Careful! Ego Out of Control Can Steer Us in the Wrong Direction!

Sometimes we get so caught up in the will and power of our ego,
we are unaware that it is running our life.

Living life by allowing our ego to be in charge and run our life is a very dangerous and unhealthy course of operation for us and the people we engage with.  It is not that we don’t need our ego as part of our human design, but we need more than an “humongous” ego to dictate how we conduct ourselves on our life’s journey.  There has to be a balance with the other dimension of our “divine identity” that emerge and take part in “Who we are” and “what we do” in life. It is not in our best interest to try to live life unbalanced and out of alignment.  It taints our ability to see clearly and our ability to take in all of what is transpiring so that we interact and respond appropriately.  It makes it difficult for us to see, hear, and take into consideration the feelings, opinions, and position of other people.  It can be a dangerous power that in the long run, threatens to rob us of the joy and contentment that we deserve as “Spirit Beings”!

Sometimes it is difficult to recognize when we have allowed our ego to take over.  In some instances, it is something that crops up when certain things trigger it.  In other situations, it is rallies around us and we are constantly trying to keep it in check.  The more sensitive and in tune we are with our feelings and attitude in situations, the more we can make sure we are open and receptive to being are genuine divine selves.  Stepping out of ourselves and solely into our ego, feeds it power and self-righteousness which distracts us from what is needed to be helpful and resourceful.  When it is out of control and overbearing, it either pushes other people out of participating, or incites other people’s egos to go to battle with us.

To go to battle with other people shuts down communication and our ability to be productive in our life.  We need to keep the lines of communication open and respectful of others.  If they encounter a “humongous ego” being confrontational and authoritative in nature most people who respect themselves, will chose to disengage with us.   We have to be mindful of who is talking for us and how approachable we are to others.  Don’t let your “Ego “ trip you up!
