Sometimes we are influenced by the culture of the country we are born in, to believe that we are only tied to, influenced by, connected to, and impacted by the physical borders of our own country.  Nothing could be farther from the truth!  We are merely one race-the human race, living out our life journey being driven to be the fullness of who we were created to be.  We want to provide opportunities for our children to experience as many different cultures as possible and people of different walks of life, so that they come to the realization that they are “Global Citizens”! 

This acquisition of “Global Citizenry” status is liberating -it is freedom- it puts them in the driver’s seat of their life.  The enrichment of engaging with people throughout the world elevates their conceptions, perceptions, opinions, compassion, and understanding of “who we are and what we need as human beings”.  This is a critical element in the overall development of us in terms of becoming all that we – our children can be. Exposure and experience leads to a comprehensive, inclusive, and enriched life’s journey!  We want only the best for them so that they become fearless and powerful in the expression of their life’s story. 

For some of us living in L.A.-the diversity and opportunities for inclusion and cultural exchange, can be a way of life.  I would recommend looking for opportunities and events in your city where you can take advantage of the experience with your children. Breaking down borders and building bridges of reconciliation and sharing our humanity.  Children only see children in their natural being, it is adults that infuse what imprints on their child’s psyche.  Work to be done! It can be so much fun!
