Dear Great Spirit,

Oh, how I do love these Sunday Morning conversations and prayers with you “Great Spirit”!

This morning what lays heavy on my heart, and I know what is causing you distress and grief as well, is the condition of the “souls of humanity”!  I can’t figure out how we went so astray from who you designed us to be, and who we are showing up as today in our lives.  You crafted us with such genius and artistry!  You put such forethought in what would make us different and special from anything or being that man could create. You gifted us the one element in our design that no one or thing can recreate- “Our Souls”!

How do we have the audacity to not acknowledge and hold in reverence this gift of our souls? How do we not realize that the “Soul” is the template of our divine being and destiny.  It holds that which is the essence of our being.  It holds the secret messages to us from you.  It is the architectural plan for our life’s purpose.  It holds the wisdom and real truths of who you “Great Spirit” is to us and the love that binds us to you. 

We have a tendency to take care of our physicality and to maintain its well- being. We try to measure up to what the world deems as beauty, but as adults we take the health and well-being of our “souls” for granted.  There are even those of us that have experienced losing our souls to things, people, and events in our lives and never paid attention to what or when it happened.  There are those among us that have had their “souls” stolen from them because there were people in their lives that were envious of the beauty and clarity of that person’s soul, and they wanted what was not theirs because they themselves had either damaged their soul or lost the vibrance and beauty of what they were given at birth.  We know that the world can impact us in so many ways. 

Then there are those of us that for reasons of greed for power, fame, wealth, have sold the essence of their souls so as to access things that were not willing to work for or willing to deal with that perhaps nothing is worth selling our soul for.  This is perhaps the most dangerous way a person can lose control of their soul because it is done using their gift of “will”!  This is done either while in their right mind or have lost their right mind to begin with. 

Knowing you “Great Spirit” and the power of your love and grace, I know that you can “fix” anything at any time under any circumstances.  So “Great Spirit”, my prayer today is to ask you to “fix us” -Like the old gospel song “Old Lord Fix Me”.  We can all use a “little fixing “now and then, and if we concede and relinquish our pride and ego, and humble ourselves before you “Great Spirit” we can regain the beauty and essence of our souls and the souls of those we love.
