I made a personal choice at the age of 13 to dedicate my life to the teachings of Christ. It was a choice I made not from just my religious exposure, but there was a deep spiritual connection to Him, a knowingness of who He was in a spiritual realm that resided in my soul expression from the time I became cognitive that I was separated from the origin of my spiritual birth. My connection allowed me to grasp the significance of what He was imparting to humanity, and what His expectations were for us in terms of keeping sacred the elements that we were born with and had come to this plane to polish and refine.
These simple elements in His character are what I strive to demonstrate in my own life, and they are the principles by which I raised my child, engage with my family, friends, or strangers I encounter on my path. I demonstrated these elements in my “purpose” career when I taught teachers to teach children and when I work in advocacy for children and parents. The principles are simple and straight forward. I did a lot of reflection during this season of Lent, the observance of Ramadan, and the forth coming of Passover as I watch them follow and converge with one another across the planet. I see how humanity is in conflict with itself, because it has lost its identity as being “one” and “interconnected”, we are at a standoff and at war with each other.
I recognize that we are engaged “spiritual warfare”! I stand firm on my belief that it is possible for us to take hold of the principles of Christ life and walk upon the earth in His footsteps. It is liberating! It is grounding! It is sharable! It is not defined by the constricts of societal norms. It is timeless! It is purposeful! It is engulfed in love and respect.
There are so many qualities of Christ that resonate with me but here are a few that touch my heart:
- Compassionate
- In service to humanity-Selflessness
- Loving Unconditionally
- Forgiving
- Gentleness
- Patience
- Humble
- Agent of Peace
- Honest and Trustworthy
- Dependable
- Grateful
- Generous
- Thoughtfulness
- Reverence
- Discernment- Wisdom
Let’s take a “Walk”!
