The State of Black People: The question asked on social media was-Why are Black men voting for Trump? At first, I had no words! I actually went into prayer over this phenomenon because I knew I had to check in with “Great Spirit”!
Let me start this conversation that is in my head with a very important fact that I think puts the experience of “Slavery” in the United States in context to other countries that fostered slavery. The system that was perpetrated in America was an organized institutional economic racist institution. There were tactics and systems in place that were designed to dehumanize and devalue the slave to a point that they existed only to be a commodity. They were on the same status as animals. Lost their identity. Lost their language! Lost their religious beliefs. Lost their families! Lost the connection to their “Motherland”. Lost their “divine identities”! Lost contact with their “Soul”. I don’t know how they survived the “Middle Passage”! I don’t know how they not only survived captivity and the chains of slavery, but somehow managed to break free and have had the strength and tenacity to thrive in a nation that has no love and respect for them.
We are as a collective not only are survivors, but we have also stood up and fulfilled our purpose when we answer, “The Call”, to share our gifts. We step into our genius and miracles happen that shape our world. Most people have no idea of the contributions we have made to the betterment of humanity, because we are still invisible! When I think about slavery and realize that the legacy of this DNA imprint has woven its imprint from one generation in my family to the next, I feel my whole body reacting in chills. It brings tears to my soul, and I try to rationalize that we are no longer bound to this trauma. Unfortunately, I see the side effects every day from witnessing how the hopeless and unloved fall into crime, mental emotional illness, poverty, and sometimes just a state of numbness. On the other hand, I see those of us that manage to find our way out of the maze designed to distract us from our “divine identities” and our hunger to thrive and utilize our gifts that we were endowed with by “Great Spirit”.
This unfortunately is an imprint left from slavery! The trauma is now seeded in our DNA and it will take generations to heal! It is self-hatred and an ingrained feeling that without the chains of submission they are unworthy of being the magnificent human being God created them to be. They have lost sight of a legacy their ancestors left them because we don’t educate our children about who they are and what they have the potential of doing and being! There is a disconnect to what really defines their manhood because they are lost to their lineage! They have been manipulated into the systematic illusions that were created to keep them in bondage – mind – body- and soul.
This is a world engaged in spiritual warfare and our black men and boys are on the frontlines headed for extinction. Our women and girls are in the line up behind them! We have a choice to stay lined up as targets or wake up and stand united. Our shield is our genius! Our weapon is our cultural empowerment that is enriched with our heritage and the legacy of our ancestors and elders! We have work to do to restore our people! It will happen because we have a divine destiny in the blueprint that “Great Spirit” created! Stay awake! Knowledge is power & self-determination is our birthright! We have to awaken the ancestral spirits within not only our men and boys, but our women and girls who carry a special gift that they are holding since the beginning of time. Our memories that lie deep within us, become the catalysis for their freedom and manifestation of the dreams that were seeded in our souls.
