Mama said, “Stop Complaining and Just Do Something Constructive”!  Day 74 -ADC 24.   The Making of Our Expansive, Inclusive, United Country!  We Each Have One Vote and Each Vote Counts!

She’s got this and we’ve got her!

This is the night that will decide the fate our country, our freedom, and the sustainability of our Democracy. I might seem rather upbeat and positive, but I have a good feeling about this election.  We needed a shake up to awaken us from our complacency and apathy.  We have been just sailing along floating on the sacrifices and investment of our ancestors, and now we are being called to invest our time and energy into the fabric of what it is to live in a country that proclaims democracy as its foundation.  There is work to be done and we are being called to support the growth and development of a more perfect union.

This is the night that Americans will make a decision of what the future holds for our children.  It will be the deciding factor of what we do to preserve our planet.  We have the most wonderful opportunity to manifest all the potential our country has to offer the world, and the world is watching to see how our election turns out.  Tonight, I keep hearing this song in my head from my childhood, and it caused me paused.  So, I want to share it with you because I think it speaks to how we love our country!

My Country, ‘Tis of Thee**

My country, ’tis of thee,
Sweet land of liberty,
Of thee I sing;
Land where my fathers and mothers died,
Land of all its citizen’s pride,
From every mountainside,
Let freedom ring!

My native country, thee,
Land of the noble free,
Thy name I love;
I love thy rocks and rills,
Thy woods and templed hills;
My heart with rapture thrills
Like that above.

Let music swell the breeze,
And ring from all the trees
Sweet freedom’s song;
Let mortal tongues awake;
Let all that breathe partake;
Let rocks their silence break,
The sound prolong.

Our thanks to all that fought
That came from far and near
To make it perfectly clear
Long may our land be bright
With freedom’s inclusive light;
Protect us by thy might,
Great Spirit be with us tonight.
