I am so happy and grateful that people are reaching out to support people and families that are engulfed in the devastation of the tragic and life taking event of the California fires that are currently consuming Los Angeles County.  Just when you think that humanity is at its worse, a light of love and compassion pushes through the maze of human imperfection and free will to cause pain and discomfort to others because of their narcissism and self-interest.  I am witnessing intentional acts of kindness and generosity from people coming from all walks of life.  People are willing to share from their own resources in the way of clothes, food, lodging, money, and what ever it takes to help people restore their lives and bring peace and security back to their families.  I dare say that most of us know someone in our family or among our friends that have been impacted by this tragedy! My family has extended their home to a person that was evacuated from the Hollywood fire that broke out last night. 

I know that traditionally it seems to be an innate instinct in our human design to “rise to the occasion when we need each other”, but with all that is going on I our world and, in our country, right now, it is so important for us to hold to and exercise our nature to be empathetic and compassionate towards those of us that are in need.  It is a gift and an opportunity for us to grow in our spiritual evolution when we are able to step out of ourselves and care about and for other people.  Giving and being open to receiving is a walk of faith and confidence.  We must give unconditionally, and we must trust that those that are giving us their support are doing so from an authentic and genuine interest in our welfare.  Giving and receiving must come from and respond from a “heart space”! 

I am so encouraged to see how people at home in our country and beyond the borders of our country are coming to our aid.  I feel a sense of hope and rejuvenation of our human spirit for goodwill to permeate the walls of deceit and fear that are trying to change the evolved and righteous landscape that we have woven compassion, dignity, justice, equality, diversity, into our country’s fabric of the gift of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  In spite of what we might be witnessing in the political agenda in our forth coming administration, we are moving forward into a future that is vibrant and progressive.
