Presidents’ Day in the U.S. is a federal holiday observed on the third Monday of February each year. It originally honored George Washington’s birthday (February 22) but has since evolved to recognize all U.S. presidents, especially Washington and Abraham Lincoln (whose birthday is February 12).
I will not blog today Monday, February 17th, 2025. Today is a national holiday on which our country celebrates the leadership of our Presidents who have served our country. I cannot in good conscience celebrate today realizing that our country is engaged in a tyrannical chaotic state led by a fraudulent President and his billionaire trilateral traitors! I mourn today the beauty of my country where national parks are in danger! I mourn today the fragility and assault to our Constitution and the principles by which we have stood in allegiance to for 249 years! I mourn the attack and dismantling of our evolutionary progress of establishing our intention to provide equity, inclusion, and diversity practices in our society that promised to make for a “more perfect union”! I mourn to today the loss of leadership that held in high esteem the characteristics of ethics, integrity, honesty, justice and compassion for all of humanity!
I mourn today the loss of our 3 branches of government that served as check and balances to maintain continuity in “the letter of the law” and safe guarding our country and its Constitution no matter what political party was occupying the office of President or which political party had a majority in Congress, or who was a sitting judge in the Supreme Court that should not reflect a political party! I mourn the destruction and disruption of programs and resources that supported the lives, welfare, protection and stability of communities and the citizens of our country as well as the global interconnected citizenry that safeguarded our humanity. I mourn for our children in this country and for children around the world that will suffer because wealth and greed for power is trying to implode the manifestation of a democracy that has the potential of being a beacon light of a government for the people and by the people, indivisible with liberty and justice for all!
But like Martin and my ancestors “I have a dream that shall be fulfilled because it would not be in our spirits if “Great Spirit” had not put it in our hearts and minds to create and protect! This implosion shall birth that dream and the world that “Great Spirit” has called into being will be birth from the ashes of this eruption! Even “Mother Nature” is responding and participating in the labor pains of this birthing process! Ashe my brothers and sisters! And so, it is! World without end! Amen and Amen!
While the storm clouds gather far across the sea,
Let us swear allegiance to a land that’s free.
Let us all be grateful for a land so fair,
As we raise our voices in a solemn prayer.
God bless America, land that I love
Stand beside her and guide her
Through the night with the light from above
From the mountains to the prairies
To the oceans white with foam
God bless America, my home sweet home
God bless America, my home sweet home.
