All of us need family and friends that are there to support us especially when we are undertaking “big things in our life”!  I could not do the things that I have done in my life if it were not for the support of my family and friends.  I believe that both of our candidates have that kind of support in their lives.  In fact, this is one of the elements that separates our candidates from the opposition.  Mama said, “show me your company I’ll tell them who you are”.  As we go through our life and make friends it is important that we use discernment in deciding who we choose as friends.  We cannot choose our family, but we can decide on who it is and is not healthy to engage with.  We want to interact with people that are in alignment with our values, principles and lifestyle. 

We need people in our life circle that bring wholesome value and enrich our life experiences.  It needs to be a relationship that is reciprocal, loyal, trustworthy, and loving.  We need to know who a friend is and who is an associate.  These positions in our life are in two different categories and call for a different kind of engagement and trust base. Both our candidates will be challenged with this task not just now as they are running for office, but even more seriously and critically when they hold the two most important positions in this country and on the world stage.  We are here as their constituents to support them with our expectations for their success and their commitment to us as well.  They will be held accountable as “Servants in the service of mankind”, and that is a heavy weight and responsibility.
